Dale White joined GLEC in 2018 after 25 years working for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency as a water quality engineer and GIS analyst. He brings a strong complementary set of skills to GLEC’s environmental engineering practice, especially in statistics and water quality modeling. Dale designed and implemented a large-watershed mass balance model to assess nutrient loadings into large systems such as Lake Erie and the Ohio River which incorporates wastewater effluent, home septic systems, and general non-point sources. He also developed load allocation and restoration scenarios for numerous Ohio watersheds in the U.S. EPA TMDL program. Software applications expertise includes water quality models (SWAT, QUAL-2K, GWLF), HEC-RAS, model calibration and validation statistics, ArcGIS applications, SQL (database systems), AutoCAD 2014, R-language and FORTRAN programming, SAS and Minitab statistical software, and USGS SWSTAT. Dale holds a Ph. D. in physical geography from Penn State and a M.S. in environmental engineering from the Ohio State University where he is also a lecturer and assistant professor. Dale is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Ohio and maintains a GISP certificate.
